Group Health Insurance in Oregon

  • Eligible applicants may not be charged more for group coverage due to a medical condition.
  • Employers may require new employees to indulge in a wait period before offering coverage.
  • HMOs may require an affiliation period.
  • Life changes related to family or job loss may provide for special opportunities for group insurance.
  • Newborns and adopted children are covered for their first 31 days.
  • Providers may review medical records for the six months prior to coverage.
