Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Northwest
Portland, Oregon is home for Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of The Northwest, a subsidiary of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan. The largest HMO in the US, Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Northwest offers health care products to over 435,000 members in Oregon and Southwest Washington state.
An extensive provider network of 30 medical centers, 431 medical offices, and 11,000 doctors and specialty providers make up Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Northwest. As of December 2003, there were 8.2 million policy holders who enjoyed these facilities and providers when in the Northwest United States. Most members join through their employers, who pay part or all of the monthly premiums. Qualified individuals who do not have access to Kaiser Permanente through their employers also may join with their families.
Kaiser Foundation Health Plans include non profit, public corporations that contract with individuals and groups for comprehensive health and hospital services. Kaiser Foundation Health Plans contract with Kaiser Foundation Hospitals and medical groups to provide services.
